Reloading Specialties Inc. is excited to announce the development and exclusivity for Industrial Cast Steel Shot. "Indicast" steel is a new revolutinary cast steel shot manufactured by a new patented, less expensive thecnology for use when large volumes of a non-toxic shot are a requirement and lower pricing is an issue. "Indicast" steel is great for reloading, weight, and industrial applications. Now!, the economics of lead and the non-toxic environmental friendliness of steel, the future of shot gunning is here.

hevi-shotR.S.I. is excited to announce the development and availability of a 12.0 density steel shot alloy known as Hevi-shot. Hevi-shot is a tungsten-nickel-steel non-toxic shot designed expressly for ultra long-range turkey, varmit, duck and goose shooting. Hevi-shot, with a density of 12.0 vs. 7.8 of normal steel shot, will open up a new era of performance with radically enhanced long range energy for special requirement's long range gunning. Hevi-shot will reload and shoot very similarly to New Generation Steel. All R.S.I. components are compatible with Hevi-shot. Also, Hevi-shot pattern's and shooting characteristics, should be very similar to norman high velocity steel, there-fore hunters won't have to analyze their gunning techniques when switching back and forth from Steel to Hevi-shot. Hevi-shot simply will retain its speed further than 7.8 steel because of its enhanced density. Hevi-shot will give new possibilities to the gunner when wind is a consideration or when game is well beyond normal range.

Wholesalers will want to make Hevi-shot a part of their inventory, as most waterfowlers will want to load at least a portion of their shells with the heavier steel. A new era of sales will come from the turkey and varmit hunter that will want to load Hevi-shot even if lead use is legal. (It works that well.)

Hevi-shot Reloading Guide

"HEVI-SHOT" Reloader's Guide VOL. 3

Hevi-shot Reloader's Guide will include 39 recipes for reloading Hevi-shot using Alliant "STEEL" powder, and will simplify the important information on how and why to reload Hevi-shot. It will also have various information on gunning with Hevi-shot, and what you should anticipate relative to its performance in hunting.

Radically Enhanced Density Hevi-shot 12.0 vs. Regular Steel

Hevi-Shot requires 495 F.P.S. velocity for penetration.

Normal 7.8 steel required 575 F.P.S. for penetration as illustrated in R.S.I. Handbook.

NOTE - Regular Steel has high enough velocity up to 55 yards.
Hevi-shot has high enough velocity up to 100 yards.

As the velocity of the shell is increased, both Steel 7.8 and Hevi-shot 12.0 will also notice a measurable enhancement of down range velocity and energy. Reloaders may want to use smaller Hevi-shot sizes than Regular steel. (use 3 sizes small of Hevi-shot than 7.8 steel for the exact weight.) A 1 1/8 oz. of #5's (Hevi-shot) will be similar to 1 1/8 oz. of #2's of Steel. As usual; the larger the pellet (either Hevi-shot or Steel) and the higher the speed of the payload, will make the range greater for the shell.
